This is the first app which uses adetailed,shared global map of visited places and objects found withmetaldetectors.Thanks to this new app, all those who love this hobby willbeallowed the tracking of both their own and others' positionswhenout for the search of new treasures with the belovedmetaldetectors. In fact, a simple and intuitive graphic interfaceallowsto begin tracking the position through the use of GPStechnology:each user will be able to see his/her movements and theones ofother users. And he/she will do this for free and withouthaving todo any registration (free login)!In order to use it, all you need is a smartphone with GPS, asimpleinternet connection with 3G data traffic (just a few MBswillsuffice) and an email account.Moreover, the application allows you to store / display youritemsas soon as you find them! It's very easy: once you discoveranobject, simply take a photograph using the appropriate buttonofthe app and... 'Treasure Hunt' will publish and record theexactlocation of the finding in a few seconds! This will allowexpertsfrom all over the world to give you a fast and accuratecomment onyour discoveries.Thanks to new data compression algorithms, sending both dataandimages has been optimized: these actions are quick and easybecausethe packets of data sent and received in each session arevery verysmall. Just try and believe...!So every finding will easily be traceable, and will allow'toprofessionals in the field' to archaeologically study thetroddenareas.On the other hand, to simple hobbyists it will give detailedandaccurate indications of the 'new' areas and the possiblefindingsthat, being a bit lucky, the detectorists might find.In short, this app is a useful aid for all those who want totrytheir hands at REAL (and not theoretical) research of hidden,notyet brought to light treasures.Being the first version, the map is currently not rich, butIhope that, with your help and especially with your outingsandfindings, it will soon be enriched :) So please be kind andpatientand above all send me your comments for making thisapplicationbetter and better! PhotoLinkallowsyou to connect any SLR camera that uses the system andsupport theFTP (File Transfer Protocol) to transfer images.Due to its ease of use, it takes a few minutes to set upyourAndroid device (tablet is that a simple smartphone).Wirelessly transfer images to your smartphone or tablet fromWFTsystem a Canon, Nikon or other file transmitter thatsupportsuploading to an FTP server over your wirelessnetwork.When a JPEG photos arrives, Photolink shows the last photo onthefull screen of your smartphone or tablet Android evenbetter.With the help of the exif metadata, Photo Link will give youthefollowing information: analyzes shutter speed, aperture, ISO,focallength, and histograms (RGB,R,G,B).Currently Photolink has been tested with only the CanonWFTtechnology.It is used with the famous SLR Canon 1Ds Mark III (and dedicatedWFTmodule).We recommend all to have an optimal performance and a largerstoragespace to set in your camera only the lower quality JPGtransferpossible and not RAW (which in terms of MByte is muchmoreexpensive).This program starts an FTP server when you download yourphotos.This server listens for incoming files and when JPEGfilesarrive, they are analyzed and displayed.The bigger the images are, the longer it will take to processthem.Stick to uploading small JPEGs for a more speedyexperience.This free version of Photolink has limitation of 20 photos duetothe computing power of today Android smartphones.Currently developing a new version with an algorithm faster andsoonwill be released on google play.Because of time to devote to the development, I will have tomakea paid version (not much) but only for reimbursementofexpenses.The operation is very simple. Follow these 3 steps:1.Properly configure user, password, communication port, etcRemember that PhotoLink automatically creates a folder inyourdevice name "photolink".Since the devices are different and even the paths that can befoundon every device, go and look in the "Configuration" thephotosfolder in the root your Android and select it as "PhotoFolder".2.Enable the smartphone and or tablet android the staffhotspotfunction and start the APP Photolink.started, press the ON button on the remote server to enablethetransfer .3.Once activated the FTP server, take the IP address,port,username and password and enter everyone on your reflex inthesetting of the connection section.Once you set up your SLR as access to your personal HOTSPOT andtheFTP server, you are done!You can start taking your photography that you will seealmostinstantly on the screen of your tablet.Configure your reflex?For what concerns the configuration refer to the officialservicemanuals of the camera.http://www.canon.co.jp/imaging/wft/wft-e2/manual/ftp/index.htmlObviously for the operation of each reflex it must be equippedwithWIFI or LAN communication module.You should choose in your configuration of your cameras, bothCanonand Nikon, the transfer of only .jpg files smaller mode. Ifyou donot select only the image transfer .jpg smallest possiblefrom yourSLR, this could cause stability problems and unexpectedapplicationblocks.Currently, this APP has been tested only with the CanonWFTmodules in FTP mode.We do not guarantee the operation of other devices, althoughwebelieve that it will go well for other brands like Nikon.Your username and password?By default, the user name and password are both 'ftp', youshouldchange them.You use this username and password when accessing the server.There is a configuration option ("Energy saving") that fixesaproblem wherefile transfers go slow or stop completely when the phone sleeps.Ifyou have thisproblem, check this box and restart the program. Your phonewillstay awake as long asthe server is running.For power and security reasons, it is recommended that the serverbestopped after use.
